PROFILE: Hailing from the land Down Under, INXS—singer Michael Hutchence, guitarists Tim Farriss and Kirk Pengilly, keyboardist Andrew Farriss, drummer John Farriss and bassist Garry Gary Beers—have been getting more and more attention on these shores since their album Shabooh Shoobah was released here in 1983. Their records since have transcended the category of catchy pop and firmly established this sexy sextet as the ones to watch in ’88.

BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT: INXS sixth album, Listen Like Thieves, climbed to #5 on the charts and was the band’s biggest record to date.

HOBBIES: Michael likes motorcycles, Tim is a big-game fisherman, Andrew collects model trains, Kirk likes shopping, Garry is an amateur bird-watcher and John is undecided!
