BEST OF ’87/'88: The 5-disc collection Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band Live 1975-85 was the "must have” item of the year! His triumphant solo effort, Tunnel Of Love, is a thoughtful follow-up bound for platinum.

PROFILE: In 14 years, Springsteen and the E Street Band have released nine albums, 20 singles, and appeared on four compilation albums including We Are The World and last year’s A Very Special Christmas. He’s become the outspoken mouthpiece for America’s hopes and dreams.

HOBBY: He doesn’t only sing about cars, Bruce collects ’em. Among his faves are a garageful of old Corvettes and a classic yellow Chevy that Gary “U.S.” Bonds gave him (it graces the cover of Tunnel Of Love).

HOME: He has two houses: one in Pacific Palisades, California and the other in Rumson, New Jersey, near his hometown of Freehold.

MOONLIGHTING: Bruce has appeared on albums by other artists such as Ronnie Spector, Lou Reed, the Dictators, Graham Parker, Gary “U.S.” Bonds and Donna Summer.

PET PEEVE: He hates being called “The Boss”!

QUOTE: “My favorites change. Sometimes it’s Elvis, sometimes it’s Buddy Holly. Different personalities. For me, the idea of rock ’n’ roll is sort of my favorite.”
