Thank you so much for picking me out of hundreds. I love ROCK-SHOTS—it’s the best. I’m so happy; I’ve never won anything in my life. Could you please put more Duran Duran in ROCK-SHOTS?
Michelle Sandford So. Pasadena, CA (Michelle, we’ve included a feature on Duran Duran for you this month! Enjoy!)
Thanks for another great issue of ROCK-SHOTS, Joanne! It’s so cool to see some heavier acts in the mag like the Cult and Poison. And thanks to Vicki for the great Ozzy interview. I love metal and I love bands like the Monkees too, so your magazine is for me. Keep rockin’!
Charles Richardson Hatfield, MO
I just about flipped when I received the letter telling me that I had won a free subscription
to my favorite magazine. I think ROCK-SHOTS is the best magazine to get for great pictures and even better interviews.
The only thing I ask you is to please put more of the Bangles in your magazine. Your magazine is the only one I can find that has regular coverage on the Bangles. But, you usually don’t have an exclusive interview with them. Other than that, ROCKSHOTS is the best!
Keep up the good work!
Jamie Epley Dora, MD
(Jamie, this month ROCK-SHOTS is proud to run an exclusive interview with the Bangles, just for you!)
How does your magazine keep getting better and better? You seem to know what I want to read before I do! It’s uncanny! Your hot-pink October issue was the greatest. I can’t believe all the great interviews: Poison, the Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Bryan Adams and Cinderella—they’re the hottest rockin’ dudes around! I used to think that ROCKSHOTS was a sissie magazine for girls. Boy, was I wrong! Sure, my sister turned me on to it (she loves the Monkees, A-ha and Duran Duran.. . and so do I!) and still reads it all the time, but now you’ve won me over! It’s the coolest, and all my friends think so too. Now how about writing some articles on the Bangles (they’re
so hot!), the Thompson Twins and more, more, more on Madonna! The new gossip columnist who writes your Quidnunc’s Confidential section (what is a Quidnunc, anyway?) really knows how to shovel the dirt. ROCK-SHOTS is so cool, I’ve just got to subscribe!

(Well, Billy, as luck would have it, we’ve got interviews with the Bangles and the Thompson Twins and lots on Madonna in this issue! And to answer your excellent question, “Quidnunc” means “a gossip, or busybody." We're glad to have you aboard the ROCK-SHOTS bandwagon!)
Hi! I am Lizza, I’m 14 years old and I received the letter about my free subscription to ROCK-SHOTS.
I like ROCK-SHOTS—the interviews and posters are great and you always put my favorite singers and favorite stars in it. I wonder if you could print an interview with Europe and run a poster of them.
I love ROCK-SHOTS!
Lizza Berniz Infante Levittown, Puerto Rico (Lizza, this month we’ve got an exclusive interview with Europe that you’re gonna love!)
Hi! I think your magazine.is real cool! I like it because you have articles on Jon Bon Jovi and his group. To me,.their songs are so very realistic with feelings in their words. And Jon would rather be noticed for songwriting than for how cute he is! This is a good quality in a songwriter and singer. It take's a very confident man to say this. I have all of Bon Jovi’s LPs and over 50 posters of them. To show my feelings, here is a poem for Jon:
You 're a very sweet guy.
And believe me it's true,
This I can't deny I’ve got a crush on you.
You dress so nice.
You act so cool,
I wish you were mine,
Then we’d show that fool..
You invade my dreams You wander through my mind.
You don't know how much it means,
When you leave the others ' behind.
I see paradise,
In your eyes,
What's your price.
To be your prize?
I want you to hold.
'When it starts to storm, My body can get so cold, Unless you keep me warm
If you don't know.
I’ll give you time.
I won’t let you go:
‘Until you're mine.
What I say is true,
Please don’t forget.
’Cause I can love you,'
And this.you won’t regret!

Thank you for letting me know I won a year’s subscription to ROCK-SHOTS.
I am physically disabled in a wheelchair, and I have never won anything before. I was so excited when I received your letter.
I really enjoy your magazine, and what I like the most about it is the great photographs that you get of my favorite artists.
I also enjoy the articles on my favorite group, the Monkees. Bonnie Salander Hicksville, NY (Bonnie, take a look on page 38 for a Monkees feature. You’ll love it!)
Hey ROCK-SHOTS!
I think you're a great magazine; I like your style! In your July issue, though, the writer kept referring to Charlie Sexton as a "sex-god guitar hero." Now, if you're going to call anyone that, it should be Mr. Andrew Taylor, best known as the former Duran Duran guitarist. The man is an excellent potential, not to mention his fabulous good looks. So, how's about it, huh? Would you consider printing an article on His Andyness or at least a pin-up? Pleeze?

Your mag is pretty killer. This is only the first time I’ve seen a ROCKSHOTS. The best thing about it is there are no stupid actors. I hate mags that have the word “rock” in their title and instead have “10 Things Kirk Cameron Likes In A Girl.” I like a mag that lives up to its title. Anyway, could you please have something on Rick Springfield in your next issue and why he disappeared from mags and interviews? I love him Melody White Grass Valley, CA
I’m really excited about winning a free year’s subscription to ROCK-SHOTS! Thanks!
The best thing about ROCKSHOTS is the great pictures of the Monkees—my favorite group! I understand that you did a special issue all about the Monkees. Unfortunately, I guess I missed that issue. If there is any way in which I could order it, I would appreciate it if you would send me info about it.
The other group I really like is the Beatles. I’d love to see them in your magazine. Becky Weasler,
West Bend, Wl (Becky, ROCK-SHOTS has a Monkees feature just for you this month! Take a peek on page 38! As for obtaining CREEM’s Monkees special, simply send your request and $5 to our address in Los Angeles and be sure to enclose your address, too!)
