I know what you’re thinking, and no, the title of this article has nothing to do with Madchester or the Hacienda or Shaun Ryder or drugs. Well, not directly anyway. It is a look at how Oasis’ hometown of Manchester in the U.K. handled the insanity of the band’s reunion gig at Heaton Park on July 19—by letting them take over seemingly every square inch of the city with posters, paintings, bucket hats, and shirts on every living, breathing thing. It was clearly a blast for the people who waited a life-teee-ayyyyyme to spend their day in the sun-sheee-yiiiiine. No word on how many people did the white line, but we bet the local drug dealers got a heavy bag that day.
