PROFILE: A formerIlirni Hendrix roadie, our hero was seen as the bassist in Hawk wind, during which time he wrote a tune called “Motorhead.” When Lemmy was dumped by the ’Wind boys, he took the song with him, formed a new band, named it after the song, became a metal band with an honest-to-goodness sense of humor and actual melodies, and prepared the entire Western World for total deafness.
