If a band ever put out a whole lot of great albums without anybody taking notice, that band is the Kinks.

Surely you’ve heard of ’em—why, many times our parents will come over for a friendly visit to the ROCK-SHOTS mansion and start telling us about the old days, when bands like the Beatles, the Who and the Kinks were leading tha British Invasion the old folks talk about with tears in their eyes. It’s quite movin

Naturally, we don’t have a// their amg ing records (there’s over 30 of ’em!) we do know that the Kinks have bet big influence on just about every band the world! In fact, many contend Dave Davies, their lead guitarist, son “invented” feedback, when he played part on “You Really Got Me.”

For us latecomers, there is a recer released album called Come Dam With The Kinks. It’s a compilation oftl very best songs released on the Arts label, which is only the third of gj lengthy career. The songs show singer/songwriter Ray Davies is oK hailed as a genius, as they range froml psychologically-insightful “Sleepwall to the nostalgic-yet-fun “Come Dana

Of course, our parents just folds between sniffles and sobs—that theKi were once on Reprise Records, they made the best records in the wl worid\ What a notion! They told to find a copy of The Kink Kronikles, is a double-album just chock full of suj music!

And we’ll be lookin’, you bet. For though, we’ll just enjoy the great Dancing With The Kinks and parents to go home so we can finish month’s issue!
