OH NO—CAN IT BE?

Yes, we’re afraid so!

Sad to say, it looks like the fabbest band of this or any other decade, Duran Duran, won’t ever be the same again! Why? Well, just because! And also because Duran drummer extraordinaire, Roger Taylor, has decided to call it quits!

What will happen next? We don’t know! But we do know that that lovable Duranic fivesome were Duran Duran for most of us—and even though you might think one drummer sounds just like any other drummer, that’s clearly not the case! Just ask Q any drummed.

As we all know, Duran will be recording a brand new album soon. Then and only then will we be able to clearly discern exactly what Roger’s major contributions were.

But ROCK-SHOTS is nothing if not thorough! Thus we recently sent one of our ace staffers to a record store near Mag Headquarters, and, after prowling the Duran ' Duran aisle, found a bona fide Durannie who— believe it or not—always considered Duran’s power drummer as her fave Duran! She was heartbroken to hear the news, of course, but she did say the following:

“I don’t know, it makes me feel sort of weird. I liked Duran way before most of my friends had ever heard of them, you know? And I just liked the way they sounded, you know? It’s really funny, my girlfriend never liked them until she saw how goodlooking they are, and now she’s going around telling everyone she’s

always been their Number One Fan! And, I mean, of course they’re really good-looking and all, but I think it’s pretty disrespectful to them to just talk about the way they look instead of their music, you know?

“So when I heard about Roger leaving, I just felt sad. Sort of was the end of an era, or ads or something. I don’t think they1!1 be the same again.
