Everybody likes Pat Benatar!

Especially the folks here at ROCKSHOTS! We’ve been watching Pat’s career develop over the past few years, and there’s no denying the perky-yetbeauteous singer has become one of the most major female vocalists in all history!

Sound like too bold a claim? No way! In fact, Pat’s rise to fame came at an unsual period during American rock ’n’ roll: right during the gala days of punk and new wave rock! It reminds us of the time back then, when we asked her what she thought defined the stereotyped image of women in rock during the 70s. “Probably a Patti Smith type,’’ the raven-haired vixen had chirped. “I think that Debbie Harry helped break the mold, and even though some of the new girls are Patti Smith types, they’ve put a place up there for girls who don’t want to be masculine and still sing rock 'n' roll.”

And of course no one in their right mind would call Ms. Benatar “masculine” these days, for the unique songstress recently gave birth to a daughter, Haley, and giving birth isn’t something that guys can do! The father? None other than longtime Benatar guitarist Neil Geraldo, that lovable Italian, who’s becoming a minor legend all his own with his fantastic fretwork!

There’s no point in listing all of the classic albums Pat Benatar has recorded all these years—wouldn’t that take up space?—so we’ll just insist, in our lovable ROCK-SHOTS manner, that you go out there and buy each one and listen to them day in and day out!

But, of course, knowing you and knowing Pat Benatar’s status as the Greatest Woman Vocalist Potentially Ever, we’ve no doubt you’ve bought each and every one of those classic LPs the instant they came out!

Here’s to you, Pat! We love you!
