Heart certainly attacked recordbuyers everywhere in 1985 with their platinum LP, Heart. The subsequent hit singles—“Never” and “What About Love”—drew wide attention, with videos featuring lead singer Ann Wilson providing a strong vocal range, aided by sister Nancy, a talented guitar player with sexy, pouty expressions. The other members of Heart—bassist Mark Andes, formerly with Spirit and Firefall, lead guitarist Howard Leese and drummer Denny Carmassi— round out a powerful Heart beat.
Since they formed in 1976, Heart has sold over 15 million albums worldwide. Their first album, Dreamboat Annie, contained the classics “Crazy On You” and “Magic Man,” rockers that became hits during the disco phase in popular music. The debut album sold an impressive six million copies and it continues to sell well today. Little Queen, Heart’s multiplatinum second LP, had hits such as “Barracuda” and “Kick It Out"; Dog And Butterfly went platinum a! well, followed by Bebe Le SfrangeJ featuring the hit “Even It Up.”

What’s next for the Wilsons? Nancy appeared in the movie Fas/ Times At Ridgemont High and mot likely will—with her good lookscontinue her acting career. Ann also plans an eventual acting career, but the scripts so far havel been “all the same kind of role—| like Bette Midler in The Rose. And the relationship between I two sisters is a happy one: “I’d s we’re more like friends than sistef It’s without sibling rivalry and without the petty jealousy that yof get with most other women. And I with a heck of a lot of humor. Yc[ know, it’s just really a good friendship. We really rely on eac| other—especially on the road,” says Ann.
