THE COUNTRY ISSUE IS OUT NOW!

AS IT DEVELOPS!

Hello, and welcome to the first issue of ROCK-SHOTS. The first issue...? Well, OK—I’ll admit you might’ve seen a magazine on the newsstands with this very name. Perhaps you even bought a copy. If you did, though, you’ll notice that ROCK-SHOTS really has changed.

It’s changed so much, in fact, that I feel safe in calling this our debut issue.

So what’s in it for you? In the first place, color—lots and lots of color. Quality color. More color than you’ll see anywhere else. We’re giving you more full-page posters (and pull-outs) than anyone, simply because we want you to buy this magazine.

Secondly, we’ve got the stars—the hottest of the hot, the greatest of the great— who deserve your undivided attention. Check out our features on Sting, Tears For Fears, Duran Duran and the phenomenon of Miami Vice. Let our photogs put you front row center at a Simple Minds concert. Watch as Adam Ant clowns around backstage. What the heck, buy another copy of ROCK-SHOTS.

In the third place? We’re on top of what’s going on. You’ll see Van Halen’s new line-up in this issue and read about their latest plans. Get the inside story on the Born In The USA movie—starring none other than Michael J. Fox. Learn all about the making of Billy Idol’s new album, Whiplash Smile—his best yet, and due out in weeks. Nor can I forget Quidnunc, our Hollywood insider—a snoop who’s practically redefined gossip. If something’s happening or about to happen—or if Quidnunc merely thinks it’s a good idea that it happens—he’ll be telling you about it in every issue of ROCK-SHOTS. Is it any wonder his name’s in all the better dictionaries?

The bottom line, though, is that ROCK-SHOTS is exactly what the name implies: 0 great rock photo magazine. I hope you’ll enjoy it and buy it all the time, but I’ll tell you upfront that we’re geared toward music—and we intend to remain that way.

And you’ll have your chance to tell us what you think about all this: I hope you’ll ifill out our questionnaire on page 42 to let us know where we’re right and where we’re wrong. Hey, it’ll be fun! ’Cause—if you fill the whole thing out and send it back— you’ll be eligible to win one of the many snazzy prizes in our gala ROCK-SHOTS giveaway. Face it: could life actually be grander?

So read and enjoy—and be sure to let us know how you feel about the new ROCK-SHOTS.
