"WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND..."

Grand Funk, this ain't! After a short decline, people in the know are starting to talk about an American rock 'n' roll renaissance. The British press in particular has been singing the praises of a "return to the grassroots" movement in the good old U.S. of A., and these limeys seemed to hate everything about America just a short time ago. We at ROCK-SHOTS have to argue that the "movement" is sort of a false one—by which we mean that the only things that these bands have in common is that they're American and they play excellent rock 'n' roll. But this ain't nothing new 'cause' there's always been great, important rock to be found in America. Sometimes you just had to look a little harder, that's all!
