A ROCKIN' BENEFIT FOR MS!

Little's been heard from Ronnie Lane during the last several years, but there was a time when Ronnie was one of rock's most prominent bass guitarists. He was an original member of the (Small) Faces, although he left the group in '73 to form Slim Chance. During this period, he also recorded an LP with Pete Townshend. Unfortunately, Ronnie became a victim of multiple sclerosis several years ago, a disease which has left him out of commission. Some of Ronnie's friends recently gathered in London to raise money for the expensive treatments his illness necessitates, and the list reads like a Who's Who of rock superstars: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Steve Winwood, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. The good news is that the event has become more than a "one shot'' deal, and this collection of rock royalty should be playing several major cities in the States by the time you read this!
