It's refreshing to see men and women sharing the spotlight and creativity together in bands like X, Gang Of Four and Talking Heads, and, as we write this, Fleetwood Mac—a band that showcases two women—is number one on the American album charts.

If rock is truly the real populist art form." as many critics have pointed out, it's fitting that rock should be created by people of both sexes working together. And if rock is to remain the liberating force many once considered it to be. it's only fitting that the music scene is working to tear down some of the barriers and stereotypes that have plagued humanity for years. And just for the record: Phyllis Schlafly is a noted rock 'n' roll hater from way back. Nuff said!
