"I guess he's just feeling his healthiest now, looking his best," reports photographer Lynn Goldsmith, who shot these photos and more in her New York studios. "He's just a real healthy person now,” says she, "more so than in any other time in his life. "Richards, taking care of the latest Stones business—be it wrapping up the latest album or settling the summer tour situation—showed up with girlfriend/model Patti Hansen in tow and got down to business.

"One story that’s kind of funny," says Lynn, "here I am doing a session with Keith, right? And you re always hearing how Keith is getting carried out of clubs—that's what you expect out of Keith Richards, he's gonna be way out there, right? Well the reason the session ended was because / ended up passing out. Keith was fine, absolutely fine.

"I just hadn't eaten all day and had two glasses of grapefruit juice and vodka; I went into the bathroom and never came out again. Nooneknew what to do. When I went in there, I hit my head on the tub and passed out.

"When I saw Keith the next time, I apologized. He just said "I know. It's happened to me a lot of times'"...
