YOU ASKED FOR IT, YOU GOT IT!

And despite what our Letter From Britain correspondent Simon Frith says, your returns weren’t enough to make us all drink Drano and cancel our subscriptions. Although every Kiss fan in America responded to our poll, they still didn’t make number one in anything but “Worst Group”.

And despite what our Letter From Britain correspondent Simon Frith says, your returns weren’t enough to make us all drink Drano and cancel our subscriptions. Although every Kiss fan in America responded to our poll, they still didn’t make number one in anything but “Worst Group”.

The Sex Pistols made an impressive showing in the charts—without ever playing live in America, they did well in the “Best Group” category, not to mention Johnny Rotten’s solo efforts in “Punk Of The Year”, “Fashion Plate”, etc. Everybody raved on about the New Wave—either you hate it or love it, and there ain’t nothing we can tell you to shake you from either side.

Led Zeppelin toured for the first time in several years, and the results show. Bonzo and John Paul Jones finally won in their categories. No trend there.

Hey, but thanks for all of the “blank generation” polls.. .all the safety pins and torn up ballots were definitely artifacts of this generation—YOUR generation! Now we want to know what you’re going to do about it!

NO FUTURE? Who knows? Stay tuned and maybe we’ll all find out.
