1. Howto Inter. On the front of thisentry blank; or on a four-inch by eight-inch piece of plain paper, hand-print or type your name and address,your age; your zip code: and your telephone number and area code, if any. No entry which omits any of this information will be accepted for judging by the Panel of Judges. Only one entry per person will be considered. Each entry must be mailed separately to CREEM.

2. No Entries by Miners. Because of local, state, national and international regulations, you must be 21 years of age on or before July 4,1976, in order for vour entry to be considered bv the Panel of Judges. For the same sort of reasons, you must also be a resident of the United states.

3. Issey. On the front of this entry blank or on your plain paper (if you are not using an official entry blank), please hand-print or type, in 25 words or less, in tne English language, in your own words, "Just what is Rock 'n' Roll anyway?" All essays submitted snail become the sole and exclusive property of CREEM Magazine and none will be returned.

4. Mailing of Entries. Mail the completed entry blank or plain paper, completely filled out, postage prepaid, to: Rock Revolution, CREEM Magazine, P.0. Box P-1064, Birmingham, Ml 48012. All entries must be received by CREEM Magazine not later than July 4,1976. CREEM Magazine cannot be responsible for delays in delivery through the mail.

5. ranel of Judges. All entries received by CREEM Magazine in Birmingham, Michigan, will be judged by a Panel of Judges consisting of representatives of CREEM Magazine, Inc.

6. Winners. All entries received by CREEM Magazine in Birmingham, Michigan, will be judged on the basis of historical accuracy, neatness, style, originality and aptness of expression. If duplicate entries are received, only the entry with the earliest postmark will be considered by the Panel of Judges. All decisions of the Judges are final.

7. Grand Prise Winner. On July 30,1976, the panel of Judges will select one Grand Prize Winner. The Grand Prize Winner will be notified in writing that he cm she has won.

I. Grand Prise Trip. Within nine months after July 30, 1976, the Grand Prize Winner will receive round-trip transportation for one from h is or her home town to the airline service point nearest such home town, one round-trip economy class airline ticket from the airline service point nearest to his or her home town to England, for not less than four days' and three nights'; accommodationsata hotel in England; and an allowance of 3200.00 for meals and incidental expenses. During the trip, the Grand Prize Winner will be introduced personally to Elton John. The time and circumstances of the meeting will be determined by Elton John in his sole discretion. We are sorry, but no substitute dates for the Grand Prize trip are available.

9. Runner-Up Prizes. The panel of Judges will also select Second, Third and Fourth Prize Winners. Three Second Prize Winners,forty Third Prize Winners; ten Fourth Prize Winners. The Second Prize winners will each receive an AMF Harley-Davidson 1976 Model SX-250 On/Off Road bike with matching helmet. The Third Prize winners will each receive a one-year's supply (50 tapes) of blank 3-M Scotch® MasterTM Cassette Tapes. The Fourth Prize Winners will each receive a Polaroid® Electric Zip Camera. All prizes will be awarded.

10. Use of Names, Photos end Essays of Prize Winners. All prize winners, hereby agree to permit the companies which shall have manufactured prizes won by such contestants, without any additional compensation, to take and reproduce in advertisements and promotional materials for the prizes a ohotoqraph of each winner posing with his or her prize, and to permit CREEM Magazine to reproduce their photographs and their winning essays to CREEM Magazine. CREEM Magazine and advertisers shall nave no obligation to use any such photographs or essays.

II. No substitute prizes will be offered. No prizes will be redeemable or exchangeable for cash or any other prize dr item. No prizes will be awarded to any person, firm or corporation other than the person whose name is shown on the entry blank. The odds of winning any prize will be determined by the number of entries received.

12. Winners shall be solely responsible for payment of all Federal, state or local taxes on prizes awarded.

13. This contest VOID where prohibited by law or taxed, or where this contest is required to be registered. No prize will be awarded to any person, otherwisea winner, if the award thereof would be illegal under tne laws of such person's state of residence.

14. The Grand Prize Winner will be solely responsible for obtaining a passport and any other travel documents required in order to make the Grand Prize trip. CREfM cannot be responsible for any actions of the British Government.

15. This contest not open to employees of CREEM Magazine, Inc. and their families.
