Teegarden and Vanwinkle have been together a long time - as a duo, a trio, a quartet? as session men - bar bands and rock groups. When they arrived, just 1 year ago, in Detroit they were a duo. They stole the show from under the eyes of the Steve Miller Band in their first appearance at Detroit’s Grande Ballroom, and between that night and the night that they made their first album, titled “An Evening at Home with Teegarden and Vanwinkle”, Dave Teegarden and Skip Vanwinkle were to enhance many such shows with their music, and their pressence.

They stole the show from under the eyes of the Steve Miller Band in their first appearance at Detroit’s Grande Ballroom, and between that night and the night that they made their first album, titled “An Evening at Home with Teegarden and Vanwinkle”, Dave Teegarden and Skip Vanwinkle were to enhance many such shows with their music, and their pressence.

Performing at various concerts including free shows promoted by WABX, a local underground radio station, Skip and Dave have proven beyond a shadow of doubt that they are here to play some good music and that nothing is going to stop them from doing so.

The formation of a band around just two people is a fairly new concept but one which works extremely well in this case. The flexibility obtained from organ, drums and two vocolists is a vital factor involved in the pleasant and technically good performance of original material. Although the band possesses sufficient volume to • fill the largest concert hall - said

power never is used to a disadvantage - either to the band or the audience. Un-hung-up is really the best word to describe their music.

’ Hillbilly without pretentiousness. Technically good without sterility. Free without aimlessness.
