HAPPY TRAILS QUICKSILER MESSENGER SERICE

Quicksilver consists of four individuals, who are very capable musicians as well as vocalists. Their style is their own. It is inimitable, that is to say Quicksilver doesn’t sound like anybody, and nobody sounds like Quicksilver, except of course Quicksilver, (whew!)

These guys have been around a long time. I heard about them (Q.M.S.) before I’d heard of the Grateful Dead. Not in any apparent rush to be famous, they waited until they got an offer that sounded good (?) and till they were ready.

Their first album just blew my head up. I never heard the likes of these people. Where had John cipollina, been hiding when some idiot decided to call.Jimi Hendrix “King of the Wah Wah” (Eye think it was Eye Magazine?) Oh well, What’s done is done and said, right, j Why bother to argue, just listen to Quicksilver and decide for yourself!

Quicksilver is a group. They put across a group image constantly, (that is, no one member tries to be a super-solo-star-guitarist like Clapton or whatever). When you listen to them keep this in mind listen to the group. They play and sing well and together! (Remember the live Led Zeppelin disaster?) Also while listening don’t try to dissect their music; just listen to it if you like it, that’s enough.

Side one consists of a medley. “Who Do You Love”, “When You Love”, “Where You Love”, “How You Love”, “Which Do You Love” and “Who Do You Love Part 2*\ A total of 25 minutes and 22 second^ of pure music that is just outside. So many nice things all through. No real high points on this cut or ratherjthis side, the whole damn thing is high. Some of the best guitar work Wh Wah-Wah since their first album. No doubt about it, they are together.

Side two gets started with “Mona” (that was done by the Stones and originally written by Ellis McDaniels. Guess who he was! Here’s a hint, he Wrote “Who Do You Love”, too). It just happens to be 6 minutes long and all of it is nice. Quicksilver is a group you can listen to constantly and never grow thred of ‘cos with each hearing you hear more and more and more.

The next two cuts were written by Gary Duncan and are something that you should hear. I don’t know but I flash to Quicksilver being an electric Pentangle or something, with a bit of Pink Floyd added' to give the music a mystic air and they come off great.

The last cut is that all time classic written by Dale Evans (remember Trigger?) Happy Trails. And it just so happens that I think it works out great so ... Keep ... Smilin’ ... Until,.. We Meet Again. Happy... Trails ... To ... You ... Until...
