RED & BLUES

The Red, White and Blues musical style is a combination of all that has gone down in the last ten years and what they could hear from, the remnants of American blues, both delta and urban. They are not blues purists, but rather combine the musical dynamics of rock with the brash simplicity of blues.

RED & BLUES

RED, WHITE AND BLUES BAND

The Red, White and Blues musical style is a combination of all that has gone down in the last ten years and what they could hear from, the remnants of American blues, both delta and urban. They are not blues purists, but rather combine the musical dynamics of rock with the brash simplicity of blues. The Red, White and Blues can play well both hard rock and urban blues.

The group combines two differend lead vocal styles: Dick Kraus singing lead on blues number and Skip Julius (who is, in the words of Jeep Holland, “a classic rock singer,”) on hard rock tunes. Dick also holds down the bottom with some fine bass guitar work while Skip, besides playing piano, is responsible for much of the original material. Ken Longton is one of the finer organ players that I have heard.

WHITE

Combining jazz, soul, classical, and new, blues in what is essentially a unique style. Ken and Skip.switch instruments on some songs, each being quite accomplished on. both keyboards. Pete Berg, the youngest of the members plays, drums head down and arms out, enclosing the music in an array of fast, original barrages. It’s refreshing to note a drummer who experiments with, and uses, his entire drumset for more than just keeping the beat.

Leadguitar is one of the most important parts of any group, Dave Bonskey, a guitar player with an original technique and style (and lately that’s amazing) holds. his volume in check when playing with the group, but solos with a power and freshness that makes the audience eager to hear more. Dave is not to be outdone by any member of the group when it comes to being versatile. He sings lead on some songs, plays harp and sings harmony*
