WABX has announced a series of free concerts this summer as well as a further venture into Television. The Doors, Blood Sweat and Tears, and the Incredible String Band all have concert appearances scheduled here in the near future. There will probably be another Oakland Pop festival Over Memorial Day weekend. Any many of the local groups are finally beginning to receive some of the recognition they deserve.

The first issues of Creem met with a highly favorable response. Reaction to the idea of Creem and to its potential was exceptional, even among those who thought the first issue to be bad. With this second issue we are much closer to making Creem a permanent part of the Detroit scene, but there are still voids to be filled.

Many facets of Detroit’s music industry have barely been defined let alone covered in depth. In future issues the world of rock, R & B, gospel, country, jazz, classical, and ethnic music which exist in Detroit will all be given thorough coverage. We hope to provide the varied media of Detroit with a medium for communication and further growth.

If you agree with our goals we can use your help. If you wish to be a contributor any artwork, photographs, or articles covering music, drama, art, communications media, on film that are submitted will be considered. If you have something to contribute stop by the Creem office (5704 Cass, beneath Mixed Media) if you can, or) if not, mail it in.

We also need a distribution manager with a lot of time and a car that can be used for delivery and a full time advertising manager with some experience. Please call the office (871-0005) or stop by if your interested in either of these jobs.

Anyone wishing to sell Creem to make a little money can pick up a quantity of copies wholesale at Mixed Media (also 5704 Cass, at the North end of Wayne’s Campus).
