NIGHT RANGER

As rock steady as they come, Night Ranger have added another notch to their reputation with their latest album, Big Life. Hearkening back to their rougher, earlier sound (and their dynamic stage show), Big Life has proven that Ranger can rock with the best of them.

“I think it’s the first record that we had fun making since we did our first album (Dawn Patrol)," notes singer/bass player Jack Blades. “This time, the album wasn’t forced.”

Night Ranger have had their ups-anddowns over their five-year career: after pawn Patrol came Midnight Madness and *Seven Wishes, albums that sold well, but led many to believe that the Frisco-based quintet had mellowed a bit too much. Blades sets the record straight:

“If you come to our live shows, you see where Night Ranger stands, in no uncertain terms. Because we’ve had real success with ballads as far as airplay goes, people don’t know if we’re a ballad/pop band or a hard rockin’ band. We are much harder when we play live.”

From the looks of things, it’s something they'll be doing for a long time to come.
