Albert Goldman is being sued 4or $40 million by two former members of Elvis Presley's Memphis Mafia. George Klein, a Memphis disc jockey, and Jerry p Schilling, a former manager of the Sweet Inspirations and the Beach Boys, maintain lhat , they've never spoken to the writer, although Goldman told People Magazine that he had. The suit calls Goldman's book "a vicious attack on a dead man" and Goldman "a literary vulture" .

Bavarian border police made the arrest on a train just before it crossed the German border into Austna. The man, who obviously taught David Johansen a Jot of stuff, spent four days in prison before he was reteased and fined $5,500. Never the modest type, Burdon claimed that he also lost $81.000 for three shows he missed in Austria while imprisoned. What a shame...

What goes up must come down.. .As if the critical lashings they've received for The Hunter wasn't enough, Blondie was forced to cancel their recent British tour due to lagging ticket sates. The band also canceled afew Midwest dates this past summer for the same reason.

In addition to playing numerous dates in Europe and beginning work m his next LP, Elvis Coetello recently took time to produce a single for Australian band, Mentsl As Anything, entitled "1 Didn't Mean To Be Mean."1Stvisatso contributed a song entitled "Losing You" to Dusty Springfield's forthcoming LF, as well as co-writing a song called "Shipbuilding" with for a Robert Wyatt single. Wyatt is the former vocalist/drummer for Soft Machine, who has been in a wheelchair since a tragic fall in the early '70s. The single, produced by Langer, features Steve Nieve of j the Attractions on piano, Mark Beddefe of Madness on drums and Elvis on backing vocals. And, finally, El's new British single is a Cover of Smokey Robinson's "From Head To Toe" backed with "The World Of Broken Hearts" by Doc Pomus and Mort ■ Shuman.who wrote numerous tunes for the other Elvis

NRBQ, a fave rave of both Dave Edmunds and Elvis Costello, are currently in the studio recording their first album for the Bearsville label. The boys are also set to release a single that is an ode to their manager, Captain ILon Alhano—"Captain Lou" b/w "Boardin'House Pie|? Captain : Lou, who has managed 13 Champion Tag Team Wresteters, lends his vocals to both sides, and the single will subsequently be sold : only at wrestling matches.
